 In Home Counseling We come to you to provide counseling in the comfort of your home or in any out of home placement that meets your needs, such as assisted living, nursing homes and adult foster care homes. In this difficult time in your life, you need support and encouragement to help you overcome these obstacles. We are ready to help you.
We are able to work with a variety of adjustment and long term issues such as grief and loss, anxiety, loss of independence, depression, post traumatic stress disorder, etc. We are also able to provide information and referrals to families whos loved ones are suffering from dementia. We provide coping skills for seniors dealing with bereavement, inability to drive, retirement, loss of belongings and relocation. Bereavement issues can include loss of a spouse, friend, family member or a beloved animal.

 Common Issues Seniors Experience: Sleep problems Sleep Problems can be identified by difficulty falling asleep, frequent awakenings, excessive sleep, and poor sleep patterns. We can assist in identifying contributing factors to this issue and develop a behavior plan to address these issues.
Irritability Irritability can include feeling "crabby" and an inability to cope with day to day living
constructively. Communication with others can be strained. Poor concentration, difficulty focusing, and lack of pleasure in previously enjoyable activities.
Loss or increase in appetite Do you comfort yourself by turning to food? Do you eat when you're not hungry? Or, do you find yourself unable to eat, picking or turning away from your favorite foods? Are you losing weight without trying?
Crying spells/Mood swings Are you experiencing crying spells, but are not able to identify what is causing you to cry? Do your moods fluctuate from happy, to sad, to angry, in a short period of time with no apparent cause? Through counseling, we can help you identify the possible causes, and offer recommendations to help you effectively cope.
Isolation/Loneliness Is loneliness a problem?
Do you find yourself isolating from family and friends? Do you avoid social functions, the telephone, or visitors? We can provide coping skills and resources to deal with these issues.
